We're Thankful!

We hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy spending time with either those you love, or with those who need a little extra love.

All of us at Paint, Metal and Mud are thankful for your support and hope we can help you celebrate the beauty of the Flathead Valley as well as share it with loved ones this Christmas.

To kick off the holidays we are participating in Small Business Saturday November 26th. (And if you are out on Friday the 25th, be sure to stop by the Valley Bank downtown Kalispell and get one of their give-away bags including gift certificates to the Downtown businesses!) There will be in gallery specials during the day as well.

And don't forget to mark your calendar for the Art Walk in Kalispell on Dec 2nd! Stores will be open late, goodies and free refreshments galore and a chance to win some wonderful gift certificates!

Welcome to the Gallery!

We are very excited to welcome Joanna Griffin 

to our family of artists at Paint Metal and Mud!

Joanna has been working in CLAY and COLOR and WORD for over 25 Montana years.  All three are intrinsic to her art and are presented on finely designed and handcrafted pottery.  Looking for inspiration?  For a soothing comforting mug or a wedding gift that sings out a blessing?  With the spirit of a writer, she blends and weaves both graphic design and form along with brilliant color and verse. Her Montana roots echo a hint of landscape, while her native born African roots present themselves in whimsical figures and bright pattern..  "It has all evolved into something I perceive as a functional greeting card. ~ Dishwasher safe and designed to provide years of inspiration and function."

Born in Zimbabwe to missionary parents, Joanna graduated from Berea College, KY with a focus on clay. 

Her Montana journey began in 1981 and she has resided in Kalispell slnce 1984.

August Featured Artist: Carri Sampson

For the month of August Carri Sampson is featuring some new pieces she is very excited about.

"I have always had a love for antiques and have been working on incorporating them into my mosaic art. One of my favorite pieces I have recently finished, 'RiverTrout Duo', is done on an old industrial mechanics dolly. Another favorite is, "Sunset Sailing", done on a beautiful old boat oar."

Carri plans to keep pursuing this new style as well as continuing with her other glass mosaic wall art, Such as her many very popular wildlife pieces.

Heart'Felt' Greetings from Montana Exhibit and new Guest Artist!

This month textile artist Monique Kleinhans has an exhibit of her original felted/quilted creations showing in the gallery! Blurring the lines between traditional quilting and textile art, this exhibit includes many needle-felted fiber paintings and 3-D quilted art. Exhibit includes wall art quilted greeting cards and home decor inspired by Montana's beauty. 

 She has also been busy making these fun 
little heart shaped felted magnets for $10 each. 
Want to see how they are created? Stop in July 16th or 22nd when she'll be demonstrating the art of needle-felting. (and if you're lucky offering a little huckleberry tasting!)








We are also excited to welcome our latest guest artist: Julie Engler from Mudslinger Studios. She has beautiful and unique pottery and was recently the focus of a great article in The Flathead Beacon.

Featured Artist: John Ashley and Guest Artist: Mimi Beadles from Mad Dog Art & Design

The hard cover version of John Ashley's "Glacier National Park After Dark" has arrived! Along with new 2017 "Montana After Dark" calendars. What a wonderful way to share the beauty of our beloved State with friends and relatives, or to enjoy a new piece of John's art with every turn of the Calendar page!  John's book has also been named as one of three finalists for a High Plains Book Award! 

John's work is featured in our window display during the entire month of June. Be sure to swing by and see some of his latest, as well as some of the valley's favorites! 

We also would like to welcome our newest guest artist: Mimi Beadles from Mad Dog Art & Design. We will be displaying her work in the gallery for the month of June and proceeds from her sales will benefit Flathead Spay & Neuter Task Force! T-shirts for both adults and kids plus lots of fun greeting cards. Be sure to stop in and see them in person!

Guest Artist: Judy Pettersen

We are happy to welcome Judy Pettersen as our Guest Artist for the month of May. She creates Metal Giclee prints, canvas giclees and also offers cards. Be sure to swing by the gallery to see her beautiful and unique work in our window.

Paint Metal & Mud Art Gallery and Gifts is happy to be a part of Ladies Night Out!

Grab your friends and join us for Downtown Kalispell's premier Ladies shopping event. The retailers Downtown will be offering discounts, specials and or even free gifts! And of course don't forget complimentary libations and nibbles!

Guest Artist: Beckie Evins

We are very excited to announce a new Guest Artist program at Paint Metal and Mud.  Invited artists will be featured in one of our main windows and offered the chance to have an artist reception at the gallery. 

Our first guest artist is the talented Beckie Evins.  Her beautiful bronzes and illustrations are known for their realistic nature and astute observation of muscle and bone structure, as well as showcasing her love of horses and wildlife.  Having drawn and worked with clay since childhood her work has also been influenced from assisting her husband for several years in his taxidermy work. 

Beckie lives at the foot of Terriault Pass South of Eureka and enjoys the scenery and outdoors as well as her many neighbors of deer, turkeys, geese and other wandering wildlife.
