I was born and raised on the West Coast and, as a young bride twenty years of age, came to Montana and have remained ever since. When I moved to the Flathead Valley, that is when my roots finally dug in and took hold. This is HOME.
I went to Flathead Valley Community College to attain my AA degree and took a metal smithing class as a fun subject, not realizing how hooked I would become. Working with precious metals and gems has been a delightful joy. I have always been intrigued by anything that sparkles -- and jewels sparkle!
When I'm looking for new ideas, I find many of my pieces are influenced by nature. My work reflects what I see and inspire many of my designs. Simplicity is another element in the pieces I make and plays a big role.
I remain in a constant learning mode and a challenging mode, because there is always something new to try, a new method, technique, new tool, new ideas, etc.
I do stain glass as another form of art. I love the restful feeling I get when I'm working with glass. It feels nice, looks nice and is fun to do, but this I do on the side with metal and gems taking priority.
