I was born and raised on the West Coast and, as a young bride twenty years of age, came to Montana and have remained ever since. When I moved to the Flathead Valley, that is when my roots finally dug in and took hold. This is HOME.I went to Flathead Valley Community College to attain my AA degree and took a metal smithing class as a fun subject, not realizing how hooked I would become. Working with precious metals and gems has been a delightful joy. I have always been intrigued by anything that sparkles -- and jewels sparkle!
When I'm looking for new ideas, I find many of my pieces are influenced by nature. My work reflects what I see and inspire many of my designs. Simplicity is another element in the pieces I make and plays a big role.
I remain in a constant learning mode and a challenging mode, because there is always something new to try, a new method, technique, new tool, new ideas, etc.
I do stain glass as another form of art. I love the restful feeling I get when I'm working with glass. It feels nice, looks nice and is fun to do, but this I do on the side with metal and gems taking priority.
